The
Call Building (now
known as Central Tower) is located at 703 Market Street at 3rd Street
in San Francisco, CA and was completed in 1898. This building was designed by
Reid & Reid Architects and stood 315 feet tall, but now stands 298 feet tall
with 21 floors. The Call Building survived the San Francisco earthquake and
subsequent fire of 1906 but it did not survive an Art Deco alteration in 1938,
where its ornate dome was removed drastically changing the look to this
structure. This pewter replica stands 5-1/2 inches tall and is finished in
antique gold.
