Battery Backup -NEW-
The KIT-NC3 system pictured at right provides a low cost stand-alone
remote alarm system with battery backup. The 11.1 volt Lithium Ion battery will provide up to
eight hours of remote alarm capability when 115vac line power is lost or power is disconnected from the
unit.
The system utilizes our model PZ-M remote lamp / buzzer, model NC-3 Nurse Call interface, and model UA-11 smart charger. A 40' double-ended modular cable completes the
system.
Setup &
Testing
1. Select a
location for the NC-3 within 6’ of a 110v electrical outlet.
The battery must be tested after each reinstallation and at
regular intervals.
2. Mount the NC-3 to a clean smooth surface with 3m Dual
Lock®.
3. Select a
location for the PZ-M remote lamp / buzzer, normally in the hallway above the
door.
4. Install the
40’ cable between the NC-3 and PZ-M being careful to dress the cable so it remains clear of obstructions and
potential damage.
5. Use the
provided wire tie to secure the UA-11 and PZ-M cables from accidental disconnect.
6. Install a
normally open dry contact ¼” mono male plug ended cable.
7. When the external
system provides a contact closure the PZ-M will sound as long as the contact remains closed. It will self reset
when the external contact opens. To test the 11.1 volt LI battery, unplug the UA-11 from the
wall and remove the dummy plug or input cable on the NC-3. The PZ-M will alarm audibly and
visually. Restore AC power (observe the full or charging lamps) to the UA-11 and reconnect the external input
cable or dummy plug.
8. This system must be tested after each reinstallation and at regular
intervals
The mechanical integrity of these devices
must be maintained to assure proper operation. All mounting hardware, cables, connectors and plugs must be
regularly inspected for wear and tear. All devices must be securely
mounted at all times. If a mounting situation arises that does not seem safe do not use the system! Contact our
technical department for advice on correcting those situations.
